I am an extrovert, a social creature, and thrive on social interaction with friends and family. I do my best to make sure everyone is happy. Nevertheless, I have my opinion ready at all times and am not afraid to share it. I am the leader in a group, I feel like I am usually the one taking initiative to undertake a certain activity which can be appreciated by others. I enjoy working in groups but also like to be able to rely on myself within projects. I like to have structure in my work. I like lists, an organized planning and set goals to achieve.

 

Within Industrial Design, I am strongest when it comes to creativity and business. I think business is one of the most important areas to develop in, as we, as designers, eventually want to be able to sell our designs. I have a strong interest in marketing and branding, as well as fashion and graphic design. I enjoy presenting and creating my presentation. This includes creating posters, videos, pitching and everything that can contribute to a presentation. Additionally, I enjoy the validation phase too. I enjoy working with the user and discovering what their needs, wants and problems are. I believe the user gives the most insight into further improvements and developments within the design process, which is why I believe that the user should be included in every step of the process.

 

I am the person who leads the conversation, is creative, realistic, yet idealistic and able to empathize with the user. I have a strong business mind, always trying to find possible business opportunities. I am the person who looks for potential ideas that the user would actually buy and need.

 

I never stop exploring and I am always eager to learn. I am curious to discover and am always open to taking risks and trying new things to potentially find something new and innovative.

 

My strong background in technology and research from the TU/e, in combination with my personal interest and skill within the areas of business and entrepreneurship and creativity and aesthetics will set me apart from the others in the fashion industry, all contributing to the designer I want to be.

V I S I O N

In this day and age, where everything is possible, I believe that it is possible for us to all feel comfortable, confident and beautiful at every moment of the day. As designers, we are able to create products or designs to make this possible by understanding what the user needs and wants.

 

I think one of the most important things in life is embracing yourself. Unfortunately, I know so many women who feel uncomfortable with their body and in their clothes. I believe design can influence the way people view themselves, especially by means of fashion. Fashion is a way of expressing yourself, it can make someone feel confident, beautiful and like their best selves.

 

Within the fashion industry, there is a big move towards more sustainable alternatives, as well as more personal garments.  Although the industry is heading in the right direction and is trying to improve, I believe there is still so much more room to grow. For example, with the technology of today, I believe it should be possible for anyone to find clothing that fits them perfectly or find durable garments that are fashionable and not too expensive. Through technology and design, it is possible to find much easier and efficient ways of customization and personalization in clothing.

 

I wish to create products that embrace the uniqueness of each person and combine innovation, technology and fashion.
